We want the women who produce our Yendy Approved™ Superfood ingredients to have a fair wage and a better quality of life. It’s not too much to ask for. We’ve worked for years to spread the message about the cooperatives we work with and the provenance of our products. It starts with a simple desire to do and be more.

  • Clean skincare, cleaner supply chain

We built Yendy to bridge the gap between small-scale female producers of raw ingredients in sub-Saharan Africa and the global natural beauty industry. Supply chains have been broken for years and we’re here to do something about it. From her hands to yours, we’ve built a unique supply chain that’s just as clean as our formulations. The core ingredients in our products are traceable from farm to bottle. Just as they should be.

  • Helping women live better

We’re a Black-owned business. For us, it’s personal. We’re talking about real lives. Mothers. Daughters. Granddaughters in Northern Ghana and beyond. They have a common dream – to educate their loved ones and to have a meaningful wage that allows for a better quality of life. They deserve to earn premium prices for a premium product, so they can have absolute joy and pride in being able to feed their families and send their kids to school. This isn’t about putting a smile on one woman’s hard-working face, it’s about putting a smile on millions of faces.

  • We consciously source our ingredients from trusted producers and we’re always working towards a better way to do things for our planet. But clean means more to us than just our ingredients.

Our packaging isn’t 100% sustainable (yet) but we’re getting there. Considering our environmental impact, we opted for no fussy packaging (it’s about what’s inside the bottle, right?) and all of Yendy’s products are housed in glass (green) or aluminium, both of which are easily recycled curbside.

The beauty of using glass is that it also filters out damaging UV rays, helping to extend the life of our products. And not only is aluminium light and durable, it’s the only material that can be recycled over and over again without losing its quality.

Whilst our caps use a form of plastic, they are recyclable and we’re always looking for innovative alternatives.

When we ship your products, we try to keep the outer packaging as small as possible in order to lower our carbon footprint. And we use 100% biodegradable packing peanuts which are made from starch and can either be composted or dissolved in water.
