FORMULATION PHILOSOPHY

What makes Yendy Products unique?

We believe that the secret to healthy, radiant skin lies in unlocking the synergy between our Yendy Approved™ African Superfoods and traditional science-backed ingredients.

Respecting ancestral knowledge is only part of the story. We leverage cutting-edge scientific research and innovative methods to understand these ingredients on a deeper level. This allows us to optimize their potential and pair them with ingredients that you'll be more familiar to ensure maximum efficacy in our formulas.

What are Yendy Approved™ African Superfoods?

Yendy Approved™ is our way of saying that an ingredient has met our high standards for quality and social impact. Here's what it means:

  • Sourced with Purpose: We work directly with small-scale female farmers and women's groups in northern Ghana. This means we can trace the ingredients from farm to face, ensuring the purest and most potent quality for your skin.
  • Empowering Women: We believe in supporting the communities that grow our ingredients. By sourcing directly, we can pay at least double the market price for their products. This provides a fair wage and empowers these women entrepreneurs.
  • Superfood for Your Skin: These Yendy Approved™ ingredients, like shea butter, baobab, moringa, and hibiscus, are known for their powerful benefits. Because we source them directly, we can ensure they're fresh and deliver the best results for your skin.

So, when you see the Yendy Approved™ stamp, you know you're getting high-quality, ethically sourced ingredients that are good for your skin and good for the world.

When was Yendy started?

Yeny was founded in 2021 by Julian Boaitey

Why was Yendy started?

“My siblings and I grew up using Africa’s most powerful and nutrient-dense superfoods on our skin: Shea Butter, Moringa and Baobab Oils. African black soap - the works. When I hit my teens, acne, hyperpigmentation, and dark spots plagued my skin. Making me feel very insecure and embarrassed. I wanted to create a brand that celebrated these incredible superfoods that helped me and my siblings. At the same time I’m passionate about bridging the gap between small-scale female farmers in sub-Saharan Africa, and a global beauty industry that has exploited them for decades"

“After years of selling bulk raw ingredients sourced directly from small-scale farms in Northern Ghana, I wanted to take it one step further and help others with their skin concerns too. Fast forward to today, we’ve been able to help hundreds of people look good, feel good, and do good.” - Julian, Founder/CEO
